AGREEMENT

ABOUT

SCIENTIFIC-EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATION

BETWEEN _____________________________

AND THE ODESSA I.I.MECHNIKOV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (Odessa, UKRAINE)

 

SUBJECT OF THE AGREEMENT

The Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University (Ukraine) and the________________________ hereby agree to establish scientific-educational and humanitarian relations between both universities in order to satisfy the needs of developing education and science in both universities, in order to better inform each other about the state of cultural and social problems in both countries, and to establish unified academic criteria in science and education within European countries.

PART I

EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATION

ARTICLE 1

Both sides agree to collaborate in all scientific directions and educational disciplines, which are studied in both universities and which are of interest for professionals in each of the universities.

ARTICE 2

Collaboration in the fields of education, didactics, and pedagogy is to be realized by way of a bilateral instructor exchange from both HEIs (Higher Education Institution) with the aim of improving the pedagogical (educational) activity of HEI subdivisions (faculties, chairs). Exchanges are to be realized through participation in seminars, conferences, lectures, work in libraries, laboratories, chairs, institutes, etc.

ARTICLE 3

Collaboration in the educational sphere is to be realized by the currency-free exchange of methodical literature, text-books, publications, and electronic information.

Participation in the European Union programs (TEMPUS, TACIS, etc.) also form a part of educational collaboration.

ARTICLE 4

Universities ONU and _________________________understand the desire both of students and post graduate students of ______________________University to study in ONU, and the ONU students’ desire to study in _______________________University during different terms up to the receipt of an educational diploma or a scientific degree.

ARTICLE 5

Both sides agree to develop the conditions required for the mutual recognition of Higher Education Diplomas (Bachelors, Masters, Specialists Diplomas).

PART II

SCIENTIFIC COLLABORATION

ARTICLE 6

Both sides consider it to be rational that professionals in both HEIs will have the possibility of being acquainted with both universities’ achievements and will be able to establish individual creative contacts in directions favorauble to each of the HEI.

ARTICLE 7

Both sides agree to promote creative exchanges between professionals of both HEIs by means of visits and scientific work in the foreign HEI (scientific research laboratories, libraries, chairs, institutes).

ARTICLE 8

Both sides consider it to be reasonable to publish their common scientific works, almanacs, annual surveys, etc.

ARTICLE 9

Both sides stipulate the invitation of the partner’s HEI affiliates to their respective Scientific Councils’ meetings.

PART III

HUMANITARIAN COLLABORATION

ARTICLE 10

Both sides consider it to be important to collaborate and to provide varied mutual assistance to each other in the sphere of problems common to all mankind (human rights, environment protection, rendering of the humanitarian assistance, etc).

ARTICLE 11

Both sides agree to carry out joint cultural, sport events (festivals, competitions and so on) and joint retreats for students, post graduate students, professors and researchers.

PART IV

ORGANIZATION AND FINANCING OF THE COLLABORATION

ARTICLE 12

Both sides agree that all the events that are stipulated by Parts I – III of the given Agreement are to be realized on the basis of Working Programmes, which are to be thoroughly and mutually discussed by representatives of both HEIs and affirmed in advance by the upper-level administrators of each HEI. The financing of all events is to be fulfilled on the basis of specific agreements approved for every separate case. Realization of any event may be postponed or suspended for an indefinite term in case of financial problems in one of the HEI’s. As a rule, members of staff or post graduate students visiting the host University pay for their own travel expenses, while the host University which accepts the specialists covers the housing and meal expenses.

ARTICLE 13

The financing of research programmes is to be realized according to separate agreements, which are to be signed for individual collaboration programmes, after taking into account the presence of the intellectual contribution and the financial means for equipment and devices’ exploitation, etc.

PART V

CONCLUDING

ARTICLE 14

Both sides concur that the given Agreement is prepared in the languages of both countries (two examples in each of the languages), is signed by the upper-level administrators of both HEIs, has the juridical addresses of both sides, and becomes legal from the moment of signing.

ARTICLE 15

The signed copies of the Agreement may be mutually exchanged both in person and by ordinary mail.

ARTICLE 16

The given Agreement is valid for a term of 5 years and may be extended if both sides will agree to do so in writing.
